- Suann Hosie D.V.M. - Diagnostic Ultrasound
Dr. Hosie provides diagnostic ultrasound services
for our emergency patients as well as for patients
of family veterinarians. Areas of the body which can
be examined by ultrasound include the heart (echocardiography),
the abdomen and the eye. Samples from swellings or
masses can be taken more safely when visualized with
ultrasound.
- Eugene Gorodetsky D.V.M. - Mobile Endoscopy
Services
Dr. Gorodetsky provides on-call endoscopy services
for our emergency patients. A typical cases would
be a dog who has swallowed a foreign object such as
a toy. The patient is spared a major operation by
having the object retrieved using a flexible endoscope.
Dr. Gorodetsky will visit other hospitals in the Lower
Mainland to perform endoscopy. Examples of procedures
which can be done with an endoscope are: rhinoscopy
(looking up the nasal cavity), and bronchoscopy (examining
the airways). At the same time as the endoscopy, samples
of abnormal tissues can be taken for pathological
examination.
